The Full Story

Ashley graduted in 2023 with a BA(Hons) Music degree at the School of Contemporary Music from LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore. She specialised in classical piano performance and has had experience playing a wide range of repertoire.

In 2020, Ashley graduated with a Diploma in Music and Audio Technology from Singapore Polytechnic, where she learned to write, arrange and produce her own music. She gained an interest in film scoring while in polytechnic and was an intern with White Noise Music as an assistant to film composer Alex Oh. During which, she worked on several projects such as the 'Ang Ku Kueh Girl and Friends' featured at ION Sky, 'A Lifesaver’s Passion' for Singapore’s Merdeka Stories, and 'Under The Same Pink Sky' written and directed by film-maker Gladys Ng.

Ashley started teaching piano to young children and adults in 2020 before completing her ABRSM Grade 8 in Piano Performance in 2021. Her approach to teaching is through creative methods such as activities and games to engage her younger students.

With a dance background, Ashley wishes to venture into piano collaboration in the future, working and providing accompaniment to both musicians and dancers to fuse her passion for music and dance. Over the years, she has also had experience playing other genres of music such as Pop, Jazz and Latin, and would like to further explore these genres, and possibly more.

In 2022, she was an intern for Campus Magazine where she wrote and produced two podcast episodes and wrote a few articles for the company.

Fun facts:

1) Ashley started learning piano at 7 from her friend (songs you can play with one hand), before learning songs from Youtube at 13 and taking up private lessons and sitting for her ABRSM Grade 1 Exam at 17.

2) She won second place in her secondary school's talent show, Anderson Got Talent.

3) She was part of a band with her friends and recorded song covers.
